How to contribute?

From the primary document to the reporting of discoveries

An invaluable parchment from the XVth century is kept by a contributor, who studies and describes it accurately in a document, which enriches his / her database.

The parchment is scanned and attached to the document. The contributor posts the scanned picture and the document on his/her website. In order to be reported on the portal, the document must be copied and adjusted to « DUBLIN-CORE » format. This copy should always be kept at the contributor's place, in a digital repository.

The portal will harvest this repository with the OAI-PMH protocol. The documents will then be homogenised and indexed to the contributors' ones.

Then the scanned parchment and the document will be distributed through the portal's search engine, editorial contents and social networks. It may as well be reported on national and international portals.

The original documents will not be kept on the portal, they will remain on the contributor's website. Internet users will be able to consult these by following the links.

If a potential contributor lacks certain criteria necessary to the operation of the documents supply chain, Bretagne Culture Diversité's team will help him/her to join the portal. There are numerous ways to do so, such as purchasing software, developing ad hoc systems, networking and partnerships.
